Akool makes talking avatars, live streaming avatars, face swaps and lip-synced video translation, with Kling, Seedance and Sora inside. Free tier, plans from $12.

Akool is an AI video suite built for marketing. It makes talking avatars, swaps faces and translates videos with lip sync. It also generates clips from text or images with its own models and a dozen third-party ones. Akool Inc. was founded in 2022, is based in Palo Alto, and topped the Inc. 5000 list of fastest-growing US companies in 2025. It claims 10 million users and customers such as Coca-Cola, Canon, Qatar Airways and Logitech.
Avatars are the core. Avatar Video turns a script into a presenter reading it. The presenter can be a stock avatar, a photo, or a fine-tuned studio avatar of a real person. Streaming Avatar runs the same thing live. A customer-facing agent can answer in real time with a knowledge base behind it. Talking Photo animates a still portrait. Live Camera and Live Face Swap change a face during a video call.
Face Swap is the tool that made the company's name. It replaces a face in an image or video with realistic blending. It powered Qatar Airways' "AI Adventure" campaign and Coca-Cola's "Ultimate You" game. Video Translation dubs a video into another language with matched lip movement. A proofread step lets you fix the translation before rendering.
Generation covers the rest. Text to Video, Image to Video, Video to Video and Reference to Video run on Akool's own models. Kling, Seedance, PixVerse, Wan, Minimax, Sora and Google Veo are there too. Image tools include a generator, image to image, and background change, with Flux, Nano Banana, Recraft and Seedream available. There is text to speech, a voice changer and voice cloning. A Video Agent and an Agentic Canvas build multi-step videos from a brief. Developers get an API from the Pro Max plan up.
Plans are per seat and paid in monthly credits. Yearly billing takes 30 percent off Pro and above.
| Plan | Monthly | Yearly, per month | Credits a month | Highlights |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Free | $0 | $0 | trial credits | watermark, slow queue, 5 GB |
| Starter | $12 | $12 | 200 | 1080p, 15-minute videos, all face swap models |
| Pro | $30 | $21 | 600 | all models, 4K, 30-minute videos, Unlimited Mode |
| Pro Max | $59 | $41.30 | 1,200 | 8K, 45-minute videos, API, workspace collaboration |
| Business | $249 | $174.30 | 6,000 | 16K, 60-minute videos, a studio avatar, business licence |
Akool's own conversion is the useful one. 200 credits buys about 100 Nano Banana Pro images or 20 Kling 3.0 videos. Larger credit packs are sold on each plan, and add-ons buy extra concurrency and speed. Free, Starter, Pro and Pro Max carry a personal licence. Business use of the output needs the Business plan or an Enterprise contract.
Marketing teams and agencies producing localised video at volume, where translation, avatars and face swap sit in one workflow.
Event and experience agencies, who use the live avatar and face swap for photo booths and interactive stands.
Solo creators who want one subscription that covers Kling, Seedance and Sora rather than three separate ones.
The reviews cannot be trusted either way. Trustpilot has suspended Akool's rating for a breach of its guidelines and says it removed a number of fake reviews. Three hundred and ten reviews arrived in the last year. Most are five stars and many are a sentence long. The App Store rating is 4.2 from 153 ratings, which is a better signal.
Credits go fast on video. Starter's 200 credits is 20 short Kling clips a month. Anyone iterating on video will end up on Pro Max or buying packs.
The licence is personal until $249 a month. A freelancer making client work on Pro is outside the terms.
Face swap and cloned avatars carry the usual risk. Akool sells them to brands with consent workflows, but the same tools misused are deepfakes. Some of the related searches around the brand are about adult content.
The model list changes constantly. The tiers of "unlimited" access differ by plan and billing term. The pricing page explains that only in fine print.
Search interest is easing, from 27,100 a month in early 2026 to 18,100 by July.
Yes, on the free tier, if your job involves avatars, dubbing or face swap. Those three are where Akool is ahead of general video tools such as Runway ML and Kling AI. For plain text-to-video, the credit price is no better than going direct. Buy Pro yearly if you make marketing video every week. Read the licence line before you use the output for a client.
