VEED Review: Browser Video Editor Turned AI Studio, Free Plan Limits and Prices
VEED is a video editor that runs in the browser. The London company started as a quick way to trim clips and add subtitles without installing software. Today the front page sells AI video generation first: type a prompt, pick a character, get a social clip. The old editor is still there underneath, with subtitles, screen recording, compression and format conversion. Trustpilot rates it 4.2 out of 5 from 3,844 reviews. The mobile app holds 4.8 from more than 19,000 App Store ratings.
What does VEED do?
Two things, in one workspace. The first is editing. Upload a video, or record your screen and camera. Cut it on a timeline with text, music, stock footage and brand colours. Auto Subtitles transcribes speech and lays captions on the video, with animated styles that highlight words as they are spoken. You can download the captions as SRT, VTT or TXT. Clean Audio removes background noise. Other tools strip filler words and silences, fix eye contact, remove the background and add B-roll.
The second is generation. The Gen-AI Studio takes a text prompt and produces a finished clip. It picks a stock or custom character and adds script, voice and captions. Separate tools cover text to video, image to video, AI avatars and lip sync. Others handle talking photos, voice cloning, text to speech and AI images. Video Translator and AI Dubbing turn one recording into more than 50 languages. A Clips tool cuts long recordings into short vertical pieces for TikTok, Reels and Shorts.
Pro and Studio export up to 4K. Finished videos can be hosted on VEED with embeds and a call to action. Standard plans allow up to three editors, Studio five. Enterprise adds review mode, single sign-on and private workspaces. There is a public API for subtitles, lip sync and background removal.

AI generation runs on credits. The site says 500 credits is roughly 125 AI videos, and credits do not roll over. Translation is metered by the minute and counts against your plan. Dubbing is 30 minutes a month on Pro and one hour on Studio. Subtitles are unlimited on paid plans with a fair-use cap of 50 hours a month. There is no free trial of the paid plans. The only trial is for enterprise customers with three or more seats. Refunds follow the terms of sale rather than a stated window.
Who is VEED for?
Marketers and solo creators who publish to social every week. They get captions, resizing and a polished look without learning a desktop editor.
Teams that record product demos, tutorials or internal updates. The screen recorder, subtitles and hosted sharing cover the whole loop.
Anyone with a global audience. Translating subtitles and dubbing into 50 languages from one upload is the strongest reason to pay for Pro.
Where does VEED fall short?
The free plan is a demo. Ten-minute 720p exports with a watermark, plus ten minutes of subtitles a month, let you test but not work.
Per-seat pricing gets expensive. A three-person team on Pro pays $132 a month on the monthly rate. There are no reviewer seats below Studio.
Credits are opaque. The pricing page gives rough video counts but not what a single avatar clip or image costs. Heavy generation users cannot budget in advance.
The AI generation is not best in class. VEED offers a menu of outside models, and its output trails dedicated tools. For cinematic text-to-video look at Runway ML. For avatar presenters Heygen is deeper. For turning long videos into clips, Opus Clip does one job better.
Browser editing has limits. Long 4K projects on a slow connection are painful, and the timeline is thinner than Premiere or DaVinci Resolve. Trustpilot's mixed reviews mention the learning curve for beginners and uneven output quality.
Is VEED worth trying?
Yes, if your output is social and talking-head video and you want editing, captions and generation in one tab. Start on the free plan to learn the editor, then take Creator on the yearly rate to lose the watermark. Move to Pro only when you need translation, 4K or brand kits. If your main job is text-to-video or cutting long streams into clips, the specialists above serve you better.
